INSTALLATION
STEP 1
Uninstall your old cylinder by unscrewing the lock screw in the mortise plate that is on the side of the door.
STEP 2
Pull out the old cylinder, insert your key and turn it so that the cam aligns with the body of the cylinder.
Note: You need to do this in order to make it easier to pull out of the hole in the rosette.
STEP 3
Insert the new cylinder, and re-insert the lock-screw in the mortise plate to fix the cylinder. Do not over-tighten the screw and make sure the cylinder is working by locking and unlocking with your hand.
STEP 4
Break the screws the right length. Depending on which spacer or spacer combination you chose, it is now important that the screws that fasten the cylinder to the back plate have the right length (See chart to find the right length below). Use a wire cutter, two pliers to break them.
STEP 5
Fasten the back plate to the cylinder with the rosette spacer in between them.
Note:
Always check that the lock is still working. Make sure that the lock still works properly by turning the tailpiece. If you can’t lock and unlock this way, simply loosen the cylinder screws.
STEP 6
Ensure that the tailpiece is the right length. This is to avoid damaging the Danalock. You must adjust the new cylinder tailpiece to a maximum of 35 mm from the door surface. Use two sets of pliers or a wire cutter to shorten the tailpiece.
STEP 7
Attach the tailpiece adaptor and insert the green tailpiece adaptor in the center tube on the backside of the Danalock. Press on the adaptor until a click ensures it is fixed firmly to the Danalock.
STEP 8
Fit the tailpiece to the middle of the housing base. Fit the Danalock over the back plate and make sure the tailpiece hits the slide in the middle of the adaptor.
STEP 9
Make sure to align the plate marks by finding the small mark on the edge of the back plate and aligning it with the small mark on the back of the Danalock baseplate to ensure that the notches on the back plate line up.
STEP 10
Fasten the Danalock by turning the Danalock clockwise until you hear a ‘click’ sound. This means that it is fastened to the back plate.
STEP 11
To activate your batteries, pull out the plastic tab to activate the batteries. A light will flash to confirm that the Danalock is ready.
Note: If you remove the batteries at any point, you will need to re-calibrate the Danalock lock (to re-calibrate, check your app).
STEP 12
Go to your already downloaded Danalock app and create a user profile by selecting the blue arrow- ring. You will use this profile to sign in anytime. To sign in, simply enter your username and password and select the green arrow. Select the “Menu” option at the bottom left, and then “New device” (your danalock will be added at this point).
Note: Be careful not to shut your door before taking the above step to avoid locking yourself out or in.
UNINSTALLATION
STEP 1
Insert a pen tip into the hole at the top inner edge of the lock.
STEP 2
While still pressing the hole, turn the lock counter-clockwise until the lock releases.
Note: Uninstalling the Danalock will not reset the lock or disconnect it from your account, but you may need to recalibrate when you reinstall.
